Domain Name Scam

If you receive an official sounding email from someone from a domain registry saying that they are contacting you because a customer of theirs wants to register your domain using several Asian extensions this is a scam.
You can either ignore the email, or if it genuinely worries you (or you actually plan to launch a Taiwanese website) then use a reputable registration company to register the domains. Under no circumstances use the company that emailed you to register the domains.
Unfortunately, the internet registration bodies have opened a Pandora’s box through their greed by forcing owners pay a fee to make their records private where once this was free. Domain owners will see much more of this kind of criminal activity and they need to be on their guard.
